Dear friends- Happy Friday the 13th! And if that feels a little unlucky, the luck of the Irish on St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner. Life often presents us with experiences on opposite ends of the spectrum — pain and joy, challenge and ease. As I think I’ve mentioned before, as we get older those moments can seem to live closer and closer together. In class last week we talked about how, in a world that feels chaotic, we can ground ourselves by trusting the intelligence of life. When we tune into nature, the outside noise begins to melt away. We remember that spring will come. The grass will turn green again. Leaves will bud, birds will return, and the sun will continue to rise and set. Even writing these words, I notice my breath soften. My wish for all of us in this season of transition is that we pause long enough to notice the quiet miracles all around us — and allow ourselves to feel it all: the sunshine and the rain of our human experience.
