Dear friends, Over the past month in our new home in Charlotte, I’ve been delightfully surprised by the layers of green, bursts of flowers, and the sweet scents drifting through the air. I’ve even discovered plants I didn’t know existed. After moving from our home of 25 years into a rental this time last year, I had no idea how many surprises life had in store—big and small, joyful and disappointing, fleeting and profound. That’s life, isn’t it? A series of unexpected moments—and how lucky we are to be present for them all. “To continue to engage in this life, without knowing how everything will make sense, is an act of courage. We can be students, detectives, explorers—and most of all, humans with open eyes, open hearts, and open minds, ready to receive life’s gifts of surprise. I hope you’ll join me at Shelburne Museum or Adam’s Berry Farm this summer. Maybe you’ll learn something new, soak in a magical breeze during savasana, or meet a new friend.
